May 15, 2024 – Summit Elementary School teacher Emilee Nichols was recognized today as May 2024 Kahok Educator of the Month. The award was presented by Summit Principal Stephanie Pulse and local Benjamin F. Edwards financial advisor Jason Rehg.
In her nomination of Mrs. Nichols, Principal Pulse wrote:

"Emilee is an outstanding educator.  She is dedicated, impacts her students' lives and is passionate.  She has excelled her class beyond the third grade expectations.  She is the most resourceful person, if you need a purple and pink polka dotted popsicle stick she has it...along with any other item you may need.  She brings real life examples into all of her teaching, she takes every new curriculum presented and dives deep into it.  She provides small group instruction and brings out the best in all of her students.   She is truly shaping the minds of future generations."

Benjamin F. Edwards Financial Advisor and Vice President/Investments Jason Rehg sponsors the award each month during the school year to recognize outstanding educators in Collinsville Community Unit School District #10.
