Important Information for Return to School Tomorrow

Posted Date: 01/27/26 (03:48 PM)

Collinsville Community Unit School District #10 announces information for return to school on January 28, 2026, with a wintery street scene. In anticipation of the return to school tomorrow, January 28, please note the following:

Bus Transportation

Due to varied road conditions across the district, buses may run behind their usual schedule.

To track your child’s bus in real-time, we recommend downloading the First View Bus Tracking app.  For complete information and instructions on downloading/using the app, visit the Transportation page on the district website

Also, buses will be traveling at reduced speed to transport students as safely as possible.  If you are driving near a school bus, please use extreme caution and watch for children going to and from bus stops.

School Parking Lots and Side Walks
Our district building and grounds staff have done an excellent job of clearing and de-icing parking lots and sidewalks.  However, the cold temperatures and remaining snow mean there are still slick spots and snow piles.

Please use caution and have patience during school drop-off and pick-up, and speak to teenage drivers about the importance of navigating roads and parking lots in a safe manner.

Dress Your Child for Cold Temperatures

Finally, please remember to dress your child for cold weather and in shoes for walking in snow and ice.  Be sure to include warm hats/hoods, mittens/gloves and socks.

We look forward to seeing everyone back at school tomorrow!
