Kahok Families,
The end of the school year is quickly approaching. Our final day of student attendance is Thursday, May 22. That means we have just nine student attendance days remaining in the 2024–2025 school year.
Although there's still important work to be done, I want to take a moment to thank our dedicated staff and supportive community. Every school year brings both challenges and successes, and this one has been no different. However, the successes once again far outweigh the challenges as we witness our students’ academic and social growth as they travel through our school district. Their growth and success can be attributed to the combined efforts of so many and it truly takes a team effort between home, school and our communities to support our students. Thank you!
One positive to highlight is the ongoing work of the Collinsville Area Community Foundation. Over the past five years, the foundation has expanded its impact across our schools and local communities. Each year, it provides valuable scholarships to graduating seniors and contributes to projects that enhance our district's facilities. Most recently, the foundation introduced a new opportunity: the Community Impact Grant. This grant was established to support local clubs, organizations and nonprofits focused on making a difference. Applications are now open and will be accepted through July 1. Interested applicants can learn more and apply using this link: Community Impact Grant Program. Grants of up to $5,000 will be awarded on a competitive basis while funds are available.
Today also marks a major milestone for the Collinsville High School Class of 2025: their last day of attendance at CHS. We look forward to honoring each graduate and their achievements during the commencement ceremony on May 17 at 10:00 a.m. in Fletcher Gymnasium. The Class of 2025 leaves our district equipped with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities to chase their dreams, give back to their communities, and build successful, fulfilling lives.
Collinsville High School graduation and the Collinsville Middle School 8th grade promotion ceremony (May 18 at 1:00 p.m.) will be livestreamed on the Kahok Studios YouTube Channel. Watch for information on how to view.
Congratulations to the Collinsville High School Class of 2025! It has been an honor to watch you grow and mature during high school, and we look forward with great pride and anticipation to all that you will accomplish in the future. No matter where life takes you, remember…once a Kahok, always a Kahok!
Have a great summer!
