“We are very excited about working with the football team and Coach Popovich. If you cannot attend the game, we would still love to see our entire district ‘tackling cancer’ by wearing PINK on September 7,” said KAHOKStrong Co-sponsor Toni Geisen.
The 2018 Pink Out apparel is black with pink. To see the entire selection and place an order, click here. Please note: Orders will be taken through Monday, August 27, 2018. Due to the expected volume, late orders cannot be accepted.
Prior to the PINK OUT game, KAHOKStrong will recognize those in the Kahok family currently battling cancer, survivors of cancer and those who have lost a loved one to cancer. If you plan to attend the game and wish to be recognized, contact Toni Geisen at [email protected]
The mission of KAHOKStrong is to help students, families and staff in CUSD 10 who are in need.
According to Geisen:
KAHOKStrong started with the vision of assisting our dear friend & colleague at CHS, Sarah Stolcis, who was battling aggressive cancer and had just recently lost her husband, Ryan Stolcis, to cancer less than a year before her own diagnosis. Unfortunately, Sarah lost her battle just 4 short months after being diagnosed, but out of that tragedy, KAHOKstrong was born.
[Fellow teacher] Jacob Post, along with myself, and assisted by Shawn Geppert & other CHS staff members, have transitioned this vision into a club at CHS that has been in place for five years now. We have been blessed by incredible support from our district and community, and through that generosity we are able to help people in need in a variety of different ways. Last year, I roughly added up what KAHOKstrong has donated to families, staff, scholarships, etc. in the last few years and it was right around $50,000!
The Pink Out Football Game is the first KAHOKStrong event for this school year. “We are incredibly grateful for the continued support of KAHOKstrong and what we do!” added Geisen.
