Since the start of second semester, we have closely monitored the health of our staff and students. In addition, we have eagerly awaited a health department vaccination plan for school personnel.
Beginning this weekend, the Madison County Health Department will hold a vaccination clinic for Madison County school districts on Saturdays for the foreseeable future. This means, by the end of the month, all school personnel who wish to begin the vaccination process will have the opportunity.
Our community’s health data continues to improve. The health of our students and staff has reached a level that will allow a safe expansion of student attendance. Combined with the clear vaccination path outlined for school personnel, the district has finalized a plan to increase the number of days students attend each week.
Here is the anticipated schedule for district schools to expand to four (4) days a week of in-person student attendance (Tuesday-Friday):
Elementary Schools (K-4): March 2nd
Dorris Intermediate School (5-6): March 9th
Collinsville Middle School (7-8) & Collinsville High School on March 16th
- Mondays will remain a Remote Learning Day as they have throughout the school year.
- Families always have the option to choose or continue Remote Learning through the end of the school year.
- At-school Rapid Point-of-Care Antigen Tests are available to students who exhibit symptoms during the school day. If your family has not returned pre-authorization forms, use THIS LINK to learn more and complete the form.
Please be on the lookout for “Change in Learning Plan Selection Request” information from the District on February 23rd. This form should be completed for any parent/guardian who wishes to change from a Full Remote Learning Plan to a Hybrid/In-person Learning Plan OR from a Hybrid/In-Person Learning Plan to a Full Remote Learning Plan. If you are not changing your current learning plan, you do not need to complete a form. This information is important as our schools finalize preparations for the anticipated expansion to four (4) days a week of in-person student attendance during the 4th academic quarter.
It is our hope no further Learning Plan changes will be necessary for the remainder of the school year. However, one thing we have learned during the pandemic is to prepare for the unexpected, and have alternate plans in place as a precaution. If adjustments to our plan are required, we will give families as much notice as possible.
