GAILS Wiki
GAILS stands for "Get Aligned with Information Literacy." The GAILS Wiki provides a transparent way for viewers to stay up-to-date with a group of area educators (including CHS Library Media Specialist Tracey Schmidt) who are working to promote literacy to students in Grades 9-12. The purpose of the group, as detailed on the Wiki, is to "Prepare 21st Century Learners for the future by increasing their overall level of information literacy in order to prepare them for post-secondary education, the workplace, and information encountered in their personal lives."

Collinsville High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school serving the secondary educational needs of the Collinsville Community Unit School District #10. Collinsville High School has an enrollment of approximately 2,100 students and employs over 165 teachers/staff members.

CHS offers a rigorous curriculum to prepare students for post-secondary education as well as the work force. Co-curricular activities (sanctioned by the Illinois High School Association) provide students with opportunities to participate in a variety of sports, student organizations, conferences, conventions, contests and tournaments. We take pride in several of our accomplishments with career success. In the latest graduating class, 73% of our students are attending college and 27% are enrolled in post-secondary programs, apprenticeships, military service and full-time work.

Collinsville High School colors are purple and white; "Indian Trail" is the official song; the mascot is an Indian chief and the campus is known as "The Home of the Kahoks."
